A/Mo PvE build
I keep hearing over and over again that Assassins can't be good for PvE, and I'm sick of it.
So here is a build that I have tested throughout the Factions AND Prophecies campaigns, and it works just as well as any Tank.
(It does just as much, if not more damage, skills recharge quickly, and has a constant recharge of energy, life + always has a 50% chance to block ANY attack)
Stats:
Dagger Mastery - 16 (12+3+1)
Critical Strikes - 10 (9+1)
Healing Prayers - 9
Skills:
1. Jagged Strike: Lead attack causes bleeding for 9 seconds, wicked fast recharge at 4 seconds
2. Golden Lotus Strike: Lead attack that gives at least 10 energy back (counteracts using Flashing Blades)
3. Fox Fangs: Off-hand attack that almost guarantees combo continues, as it cannot be evaded, and has quick recharge
4. Death Blossom: Dual Attack that works WONDERS as a quick AoE. Usually this skill will critical, and hits ALL adjacent enemies for at least 140-160 damage
5. Critical Eye: Increases the chances of critical strikes for cheap.
6. Flashing Blades: Elite Stance that lasts for 21 seconds, and blocks 50% of all incoming attacks as long as you are attacking. Here is the beautiful part, it only takes 20 seconds to recharge.
7. Live Vicariously: +11 Health per hit, with an Assassin, that adds up, quick.
8. Mending: +3 constant health regeneration.
NOTE: Mending and Live Vicariously will give -2 for energy regeneration, but with the exorbitant amount of criticals this build gets, its not that big of a deal. Golden Lotus serves well as a backup if criticals don't hit often enough.
and finally,
Weapon: (can be subbed for Urkhal's Kamas)
Shiro's Blades
* Slashing damage 7-17 (req. 15 Dagger Mastery)
* Damage +15% (while Health is above 50%)
* Life stealing: 3
* Health Regeneration - 1
* Health +30
* Both hands
NOTE: Mending counteracts to give a total of +2 degen with a 9 in healing prayers. Add 3 to live vicariously, and thats 14 health per hit.
With Death Blossom and Live Vicariously:
2 enemies: 56 health regained and 300 + damage
3 enemies: 84 health regained and 450 + damage
4 enemies: 112 health regained and 600 + damage
etc, etc.

You must be pretty mad to make such a build.

Don't think I've ever hit DB in PvE for more than 70.
I have 12+4 DM too and 11+2 Crit

yea you could rely on crits being ur enery management IF they were reliable on lvl 20+ mobs...
how critcal strikes work makes this build fail not soon after Kaineig Center

well you could add WoTL and Critical strike, 2 crits instantly and wotl gives you energy every dual strike you use. then add WoP so you heal every hit too.

Death Blossom Dual Attack. Must follow an off-hand attack. If it hits, Death Blossom strikes target foe for +15...35 damage and all adjacent foes take 15...35 damage.
|
All Adjacent foes take damage, that is different from Cyclone Axe and Triple Chop with both say they attack or strike adjacent foes.
DB will only trigger LV twice, no matter how many foes are adjacent to you.
Vig Spirit is always better than mending unless you happen to be running. Lack of Deep Wound means you'll be just a little behind warriors in terms of damage. Otherwise this just looks like your typical mending wammo only with less armor.

Switch mending for vigorous spirit. Don't agree with it, but it is the better skill.

Yes, this works well in PvE in Factions up to a point. In Prophecies, there are too many critters that will strip your enchantments.
On the higher level Factions and Prophecies PvE maps, with critters level 24 and above, the rate of critical hits drops disastrously for assassins. Since crits are the primary for an assassin, this is either a game design flaw or a game implementation defect. ANet should fix it. They have been asked to do so many times, so they either cannot or will not.

Hm lets think. Death blossom is a dual attack. DUAL ATTACK. it means it hits twice. Ive done around 75 dmg per attack, which is 150 dmg. [to other guy] And crits happen often enough on 20+ mods =S

well, you can always take the attribs from healing to protection and put in sprotective spirit and spirit bond...that way, you're resistant to afflicted exposions and ele spikes to a manageable degree.
of course, you'll need a monk to heal you up but somehow, you can be very tough while dishing out your favorite dagger combo.
just my 2 cents.
